This has been a huge problem for me with P-TTL. I have the Sigma 500-
DG Super (in combination with my istDS) and for all the Sigma's
complexity, I sure wish that it came with two things:
1. A manual that actually explains all of the settings, and
2. The ability to go to "plain old TTL" exposure mode.
Failing both of those, I just muddle on with what I've got, and live
with the fact that there are some people (and animals) that I can
never photograph while using a flash! :-(
..and the manual for this flash is surely one of the slimmest, "hope-
you-know-what-you're-doing-'cos-we-aren't-going-to-tell-you" manuals
I've ever had the displeasure of going to for information.
