YES, Of course I know that, but the METERING is done
stopped down which can cause HUGE losses
in metering sensitivity at small f-stops.
That's one of the reasons why stop down ***metering****  went out
of style over 30 years ago from PENTAX
as well as everyone else....

Have you understood that the lens only stops down *momentarily* to 
meter and again *momentarily* to take the picture, and that at all 
other times it is open?
