It takes my 8x Sony burner ~15 mins to open burn and close a full DVD-R disc 
session at 100% speed so I assume that your system, doesn't execute a verify 
after write? My process takes about 45 mins due to the verification and post 
disc write thumb-nailing I execute for my off-line library.
