As Mr. Robb can attest I've had my *ist D out in a steady rain for 10 minutes or more with water just beading up and dripping of the camera and haven't had a problem. I'll bet it's some other kind of fault, not caused by humidity.

If it is an environmentally caused issue, it may likely go away. I would think though, that if humidity got in that easily, and now the camera was in dry condtions, it could evaporate out almost just as fast.

thanks for making me laugh, Tom. :) You're not far wrong -- I think I
remember reading that one of the Nikons has a really good seal? The
camera place said that this happens to canons and nikons as well, but
I should think the one with the seal would be a better bet.
