Actually, there are two ways to control the 360 wirelessly. One, as Don
says, is with the RTF (built-in flash), but this only works with the *ist
D.
The second way, which is the only way that works with the other Pentax
DSLRs (as well as the *ist D) is to use a second 360, either mounted on
the camera, or connected to it via the 5P system.
If you have a DS or DL, and you only need one light source, then 5P cables
and connectors are the cheaper option. It is possible to buy a 9ft cable.

No it can't, the built in flash is what controls the 360.
You can set the built in to _ONLY_ control the 360 and not
contribute to overall exposure though.
On the ist-D you set "Flash in Wireless Mode" to off in
custom functions.

Subject: FGZ 360 wireless flash
I've been able to use this as a wireless slave (triggered by the
built-in
flash)... but can the wireless capability be used WITHOUT the built-in
flash? I couldn't figure it out from the manual. Thanks.
