I disagree. It's not public hysteria. It's the deliberate, self-serving, falsified acts and claims of a sociopath in a position of power. A social worker with the strength of the government and law enforcement arm behind them. A person who is going to make a name and career for themselves. A person, hoping to win a court case that sets a legal precedent, making it easier to prosecute individuals, guilty or not. A person that likely was abused themselves and is now on a warped mission of their own.

And a public, who for the most part, has been taught to believe that the kind of justice they saw on 50's - 80's crime dramas is the kind of justice that actually exists.

Called public hysteria I believe. Results in witch hunting and such. It is caused by not using the higher faculties of our minds and reacting to emotions, usually fear, without any thought process whatsoever. You would think that the purpose of having a legislature would be to prevent the results of that becoming law, but it doesn't seem to help at all.

Remember Marietta Higgs? She had the entire population of an Orkney village locked up because she suspected "satanic abuse"? That was the big media scare fifteen years ago, along with "recovered memory".

It took the Orkadians about six moths to get out and get their kids back.

Not only could what was happening in Texas or Ohio happen here, or anywhere, but it already has, and on a much bigger scale.

what's worse, we're as guilty of it here in the UK as there.
