While I think it's a bit overreractive to call the cops just because some
old fart is taking pictures, it may be better that the police do check
things out rather than ignore them. What was the officer to do - tell the
person who called that they're overreacting and not worry about it?
Well, yes, actually. That is exactly what should have happenned.
Unless you are actually committing a crime, the police whould leave you
alone.
The "investigation" should not have involved the police getting out of their
car at all.
Simply driving past and looking at you on their way to Tim Horton's is all
the investigating they should have the right to do in the situation you
described.
