Pentax no longer warehouses. It goes from the production lines to the
distribution center in the Philippines where it is transshipped to the
dealers. Even places like B&H can not get enough to warehouse them.
Almost everything is on quotas.
(All this according to a Pentax Rep)
Thank the MBA's. It is the new model of how to do business (The just a
bit too late model, that seems to have replaced the just in time model).

Which probably is why there is only a trickle of isD still coming
out, they only have the one old slow production line for it. Just
making a wild guess I would say there are two for the DS one
producing the DS and one producing the DS2 which would explain why
they are not marketing the DS2 worldwide, and one more producing the DL.
If sales where slower than they seem they would probably be shutting
down a line and switching back and forth producing 2 models on one
line, but then there would be no conceivable reason for two different
DS models.
