The competent know they can do better, so they keep trying to learn more. The incompetent think they already know everything there is to know, so never learn enough to judge their own abilities. My introduction to these people was a truck driver I met who told me I couldn't tell him anything about trucks because he had been driving them for 40 years. Apparently he learned all that the first two weeks on the job, since I was the guy who had to repair his truck about every two weeks, I was pretty upset.

That's the only view a wannabee like Kenny could have.  He reminds me
of the psychological studies that have been done about incompetency. The most incompetent people at a task are so incompetent that they not only don't think they're incompetent, think they're good at the task. Kenny seems to live in that end of the world with respect to a lot of
tasks, not the least of which are computer technology and writing a
product review.
