I've gotten pretty good results from my Epson 2400 and 35mm slides. I gave up pm trying to scan negatives. I haven't tried MF, but I haven't shot MF.
Dust is a problem, but overall I've been happy with my scans. OTOH, getting the color right is a bit of a problem. It's why when I was shooting slides I switched from Velvia to Provia. Velvia was a little over saturated to scan well -- I had to a lot of dinkering to get it right. Provia scanned just fine. So if one wants to save money, for some uses a flatbed scanner does just fine. Trying to pull up a PUG picture to illustrate. Okay, found one. http://pug.komkon.org/03jul/bigbarn.html Marnie aka Doe
