The LS2000, if the price is right,
would make a nice intro to learning about scanning techniques.

You will need a SCSI setup for this scanner, so you might want to factor
that into your budget.  I think all that's needed is a SCSI card and maybe
some software.  Often people selling the older scanners can provide the
card and whatever else is needed.
Yeah, I know. SCSI is a bit of an issue if I want to connect the device to my little Mac, but not if I use my other PC. A PCI SCSI controller is included in this case, and we also have a number of those that won't be used anymore, lying around at work, and I'll probably be allowed to take over one of those...
