I think you'd better check the ISO setting resistor. This becomes oxidized and sometimes makes bad (intermittent) contact. It happened to me -- I shot a very important roll of Ektachrome and it was under by three stops stops. I was in a hurry and didn't check with a meter as I usually did. It was winter and there was lots of sun on bright snow and things should have been perfect.

First check the battery and be sure that it is the correct type and voltage. For example, alkaline PX-625s will cause underexpose by 1-2 stops in most cameras designed to take mercury oxide PX-625s.

Hi all, I have a technical question for you.

Been away from the list for a bit, but re-subbed
'cause I got another toy: Very nice and clean ME-SE,
the pancake lens, and a pile of other misc goodies in
an ebay lot. All looks very nice, but the ME-SE meter
is way off compared to my other bodies - it wants to
underexpose bad. I'd rather not have to leave it on 4x
to get a decent exposure.

Was going to try to find disassembly instructions and
figure out how to get the meter closer to correct, but
is there a more accurate way a talented DIY-type can
properly adjust it besides just comparing it to what
other camera bodies read with the same lens and
exposure settings? I can't imagine this being
something a shop would do cheap enough to be
worthwhile to me. Recent disassembly and reassembly of
a Spotmatic F went quite well, but that didn't involve
meter calibration.

Thoughts? Advice? Flames?
