LaCie offers some things that other drive manufacturers don't, or at least that I've not seen. For example, their D2 drive with triple interface (High Speed USB2.0, Firewire 400, and Firewire 800) in capacities from 160gb to 500gb. They also have a portable hard drive that's fingerprint activated. I used to use tape backups, but now hard drives, CD and DVD backup make much more sense and are faster. I did like the security of tape, however, even if it was slow. For some uses tape may still be the best alternative. Shel ========= I guess I was wondering about the durability of tape vs the durability of DVDs and HDs. Thanks for the info. on LaCrie. I guess I'll finally have to figure out what a firewire is. I just figured out what ITunes and IMusic were. And just finally read up on Napster and its demise. (I did know what mp3 was.) Marnie ;-)
