If you'd like a fig leaf, I'll opine that it's a difficult subject, as
far as lighting is concerned, with elements that are outside the dynamic
range of the capture medium. The sailboat is blown out, while the rest
of the image looks a bit underexposed. (Color balance is off too). But
as I said it's a difficult subject. It doesn't help that even the best
super telephotos tend to have lower contrast and with all the atmosphere
in between you and the subject some haze is bound to be in the way.
