Have you tried yours on a Pentax DSLR? I find mine (the A version)
awfully soft at the sides even at f8, when it is mounted on my *istDS.
My A15/3.5 is quite acceptable in the corners on the *ist D even at f5.6.
Maybe they dropped the aspheric design for a reason.
The night sky photos referenced by Boz show the Asph to be softer. It
doesnt show any other examples under different conditions.
