But you could still call it an LX. Just look at Nikon and the various F bodies: F, F2, 
F3, F4 and F5. I can't see why similar things can't be done from an LX to an LXII. 
All Pentax needs to do is to make a camera thats obviously is inspired by the original 
LX in design and looks and that fill a similar role in the line-up.

I'm certain a new LX will be built from scratch. There's hardly any sense to base the 
camera on parts from the late 70's particularly when the manufacturing line is being 
closed down. I've heard that the factory workers was relieved when the decicion of 
stopping LX production came.

I'm willing to bet that an LX replacement is the Limited camera.
