It's evidence of intelligent design because it tends to point in that direction. It doesn't prove anything of course. But it suggests that the concept should be explored further. Evolution is sound science, and it's foolish to deny that. But evolution doesn't preclude other possibilities that should be open to investigation. To do that is equally foolish. However, I think that political correctness precludes other possibilities for many. It's currently not popular to consider concepts we can't quantify and classify.
