Agreed. I do not see anything wrong at all that people pass around info each
other and trade their speculations.  Everybody does that everywhere.  Places
like DPReview are filled with those.
It is one of the virtues (?) and the long traditional favourite pastimes of
PDML :-).
Like the "silly season" of Formula One, all sorts of speculations fly around
(tongue-in-cheek or not) in PMA and Photokina time.  Pentax are not the only
sinner.  Look at Nikon, Panasonic and Sony etc.  Canon is about the only mfr
who occasionally leak advance info quite intentionally as part of their
marketing strategy, as "teasers".
It's just part of fun when people get bored (or anxious ? :-).
I absolutely see nothing wrong with it.  It's a healthy mental exercise, and
nothing more than that.  I do not take anything so seriously as some other
people apparently do.
