Hi!
A fringe benefit at my employer is an 8 week sabbatical every 10
years. I've been thinking of spending 3 weeks 'down under'. You
folks have convinced me it gets damned hot in Australia during your
summer, so I've been thinking of spring. And all those great pictures
of New Zealand have me wanting to go there as well.
My calculations have centered on sometime in September or October,
maybe even November, but I thought I'd ask for advice. Great scenery
and good photo opportunities are desired... plus I want to hear people
talk funny!!! :-)
Any advice as to time and places.
Bob, here is some Middle *Ist-ern advise. In 2000 my wife and I went to
Melbourne to visit my former university class mate. So it was around
Passover - more or less - very soft and pleasurable weather. It was
wonderful. I wholeheartedly suggest you take a ride around Melbourne -
the wineries are amazing. And generally there is great many things to
see. Climb the Rialto tower. Not the tallest yet tall enough. You can do
it both at night and at day. The view is still breathtaking...
Australians don't talk funny ;-)... We do...
