Congrats for your birthday and for having such nice parents. > 2) I can't stomach the idea of having an f3.5-5.6 lens as my only > normal/wide, so do you know of a faster wide (20mm or so) that I could > get for a similar price? My DS came in a package deal with the usual kit zoom. Haven't used that lens for more than a dozen shots as opposed to well over 4000 pictures taken with a selection of manual Pentax lenses ranging from 15 to 200 mm. My favourites are the M4/20 mm, the A1.7/50 mm, the M2/85 mm, and the M4/200 mm. There is a more recent 2.8/20 mm lens if speed is important to you. > 3) How much memory will I need to store 100 or so RAWs? A 1 GB card stores about 95 RAW pictures. > 5) Is there anything else that I should know? :-) The SD sure is some of the greatest fun you can have with your socks on. I've just returned from an extended weekend trip to the French side of the English Channel with around 1800 shots in 5 days. A detailed account will follow as soon as I've prepared a few pictures to illustrate it. Ralf -- Ralf R.
