Ring Light Recommendations?

I've long wanted a ring light for macro shots.  I have quite a few mineral 
specimens that I'd like to photograph for abstracts (not to mention it's 
usefulness for flowers).

Has anybody used the new LED ring lights?  Didn't Pentax once sell a ring 
light?
