It's true! And it's in an XML format. Hooray for compatibility!
The odd thing is, the lens info doesn't show up in Bridge *until* you
convert the DNG into a PSD. Then it appears with both the DNG and the
PSD files. And you can delete the PSD and Bridge still shows the lens
info for the DNG. If you just keep the DNG but don't convert it into
anything else, the lens info stays hidden. Weird (and a trifle
inconvenient).

BTW: I'm still trying to figure out where they hide the lens
information in the JPEG file when you create it from a PEF in Camera
Raw. It's definitely in the JPEG somewhere, but I haven't been able to
find it in a hex editor yet. Not that it really maters but I *am*
curious.
