Not pointless at all. Interface is important to me and at least a few
others who subscribe to the list. While Paul may have called it a
flame war, I saw it more as an informed, but rather excited, debate.
We see this kind of thing when intelligent people with their own
opinions get together.

A moderated list is the last thing we need. If flame wars bother you
so much, I think Roman moderates a google group. And if anyone at
Pentax actually does read the list, a properly formulated subject line
is all they need to wade through the crap. The lack of moderation is
one of the reasons I stick around, I suspect it's one of the reasons
lots of folks stick around, and it certainly brings out personalities.
I still feel like the new guy around here, even though it's been a
bit over a year, but I've met more people "for real" from this list
than all the others I have ever subscribed to combined. All of whom
I'd like to stay in touch with for years to come. Flames aside, the
nature of the list encourages conversation, friendship and
cooperation. Go apply your moderation somewhere else.
