Cyril,
From my memory, my A is made of metal, not plastic. There's a rubber ring on
it, but underneath it's definitly metal. I wasn't aware there was more than one
make of this model.
I can't really comment on the sharpness of the lens, as I mostly use the
A35-105/3.5, and my brother is currently using the lens.
