Hi, Coming out of the lurking mode, I would like to get your views/opinion on K100D vs. Canon Rebel XT (350D) assuming no existing investment in lenses/flashes? The Pentax kit is around $100 cheaper in the US. Is Canon auto-focus better than the Pentax under normal lighting conditions? I am just an occasional amateur and use the camera during travel.
And how would you compare the kit lens of the two? The canon kit can be upgraded to 17-85mm which is supposedly quite good. What would be a similar upgrade on the Pentax? I currently shoot ME Super with 35-105 f/3.5 and 70-210 f/4 but would rather move to auto-focus since I not too sure if I can use MF lenses without any manual focus assist on the K100D. Thanks a lot!
