And in case you meant something different...no, I
wasn't being a wiseacre...

I've shot with hand held a few times but mostly on the
tripod. I focus and then go the aperture. Then I kinda
flatten out my hand directly under the barrel to
support it and fire away (at this point birds fly away
and I curse).
