I recently tried to purchase a USPS money order. Stood in line for 1/2 hour.
Got told that the windoe I was being helped outran out of money orders. Wait
for the adjacent window to open up, but "Sorry I'm closed". Go to third
window, "Money order machine is broken".

By this time Shel, you could have gotten to a Western Union outlet and
cashed it. :-)

FWIW, I wouldn't really know the difference between a 'bank money order' and
a Western Union money order. I know of course one is issued by a bank, but
other than that I don't think most people would recognize a difference.

Banks are some of the biggest conartists around.
