Kostas ======= Is there a monthly charge on most regular checking accounts in the US? Yes. Does a customer pay a charge on each deposit? No. Bank accounts with a minimal balance have no monthly charge. And I found an account for those 55 and over with no charge. So if one looks around one can avoid a monthly fee. I've never liked the monthly fee idea, since banks make money on the money customers deposit.
