Stick to the French Press it tastes better. I need to replace mine that 
disappeared sometime in the move from Charlotte to Boone.

That said, if you do go drip, I like a coffee maker that uses the cone 
filters. The filters are a bit higher, but they make better coffee when 
you only do a partial pot. As for the fancy gold permanent filters I 
have two of them in the cupboard where they stay. So much more 
convenient to just toss the paper ones in the trash (it isn't much more 
environmentally unfriendly than just tossing the grounds). I have never 
seen nor used cloth filters, but the idea seems like a nightmare to me 
unless you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time than was 
them.
