Paper filters means more waste in the world, unless the paper is
biodegradable and you compost it with the grounds. 

I use a gold filter like this when I'm making coffee just for myself:

It's perfectly easy to clean. Cloth filters sound like a lot of fuss
to clean, but I don't think I've ever seen any.
