The 18-55 is a good little lens, by far the best of the 'kit' lenses for 
digital (The only other Kit lens I consider to be in the running is the 
Nikon 18-70, which is better built, with AF-S focusing and more range, 
but optically similar and twice the cost. All others are worse 
perfomers, typically for similar or more money).
