Thanks for the info Bob. Actually I am vaguely familiar with the area. My sister in law lives in Charlotte and her youngest daughter in Asheville. Just wasn't sure about stuff available with a reasonable drive. Also, what about the mountain itself. Are most of the photo opportunities available from the hiking trails, etc? I am not in the best of shape but can walk for upwards of an hour or so as long as I take it slow. I had hoped that my wife would tag along but it is beginning to look like maybe not. We will see. It looks like I will leave here Fri AM early to drive up and be there Fri evening, Sat and maybe Sun, drive back Mon.
