An in car navigation system is handy in the mountains here. On it is disconcerting when it tells you "After 75 yards turn right" into a cliff face. At least mine has not tried to run me off a cliff yet.
I have after a few incidents like that figured out that the GPS mapping van went through several years ago when they were still doing construction and it is trying to send you around detours that no longer exist.
