Former audio engineer with BFBS Cologne and Deutschlandfunk, now running a small technical translation business in the 26th year. Never even considered doing photography for a living. I had once turned a hobby (audio) into a profession and some people ruined my dreams and ambitions in that field by making it all too clear that they were only in it for the money, the security of a public service job, and the pension they'd be getting later and that everybody striving for more than sleepy mediocrity was most unwelcome.
