Oh, no. You don't understand what a powerful symbol the American flag is to Americans. Americans are probably the most patriotic people in the world, and that flag represents everything that they feel their country is. This struck another key in me. Could it also be because US basically is a multiethnic society? I wonder if we have a less diverged culture in Norway. The USA is multi ethnic, but if you are an American, you are an American, first and foremost, and that flag is to die for.
