Of the six SD card readers I tested, the Sandisk ImageMate 12-in-1 USB 2.0 reader was clearly faster on both read and write operations than all the others with any of the cards I tested in them. From http://homepage.mac.com/godders/Pentax-DS-150x-timing/ --- Card read speeds tested with a Sandisk ImageMate 12-in-1 USB 2.0 reader show - 45x card averages 5.5-6 [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Transcend 45x) - 60x card averages 7.5-7.9 [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Sandisk Ultra II) - 150x card averages 7.8-8.5 [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Transcend 150x) reported by Mac OS X v10.4.8's Activity Monitor application when writing from a Power Mac G5 2.0Ghz DP to an internal SATA drive with 90% free space. --- I haven't bought an Extreme III yet, but I expect it to perform as well as the Transcend 150x at least.
