Mark, just a word of caution. I have older Compact Drive PD7x model which is truly excellent piece of gear. There is one gotcha though. It is rather sensitive about the voltage batteries you insert. I did not try it with alkalines 'cause I don't trust them to be powerful enough. However I found (by trial and error) that if I insert a set of freshly charged 2300 or 2700 MAh batteries, it would tell me it is unhappy about the voltage. However if I let them be used a bit (say by taking few shots by my *istD), it would work fine. Ultimately I resolved to using it either with mains adapter or with car lighter adapter 'cause I have both.
Perhaps in the newer model they have fixed this issue. By the way, mine works just fine with 1 GB Sand Disk SD Extreme III Card I bought. I doubt it will work with SDHC cards, but I have none, so I don't care too much. Just my milliamps worth.
