This somewhat depends on how much you want to spend.  One option is to
get the 18-55 now and use it until the 16-50/2.8 comes out.  At that
point you can choose between the Pentax and the Sigma, partly based on
price.  Or you could just get the DA 16-45/4 and be done with it.  It
is a fine lens and faster than the cheap Pentax or Sigma and better
image quality to boot.

Do be aware that there is a big difference between 16 and 18 mm -
similar to a 24 vs 28 in full frame 35mm.
