Thanks Bruce. Half of my overexposed pics were shot in multi-pattern 
metering, and half with center weighted.
I think that probably the wildest exposures were made in matrix metering, 
while maybe those shot with center weighted were just less off (peaking at 
+1 or +1.5 instead of + 2 or +3).
