The power packs are dedicated to the 540, I don't believe there's another pack made for it but you may want to check third party vendors. They take 6 C batteries. However, the 4 AA's that go in the flash itself must also be used as the flash won't work with the power pack alone. So, total battery voltage is 15v, but I couldn't tell you the output charging voltage. The recycle time was such that it was never an issue. It's around 4 seconds or slightly faster.
