Bruce, I do have an AF-500FTZ and a AF-540FGZ, both use the same type of power plug. I have a Quantum Turbo II battery and I used it with the AF500, it required 3 batteries and a dummy cell Quantum provided with the cable kit. I will post a question to the Quantum support people and see if they support the AF540 with the same configuration.
