I believe Joe Tainter did that some time ago. His conclusion was that it's almost a toss up on performance ... they both perform very well, the DA21 is slightly better on some aspects.
I only had a Pentax FA20 once for a very short evaluation and found it to be an excellent performer, better than my Canon 20/2.8. I can't do the same comparison test, but the DA21 has been more than satisfactory. I would pick the DA21 over the FA20 for its compactness, light weight, build quality, and support for the QuickShift focusing feature. It might have a small edge over the FA20 with regard to imaging specifics having to do with the digital sensor.
