I already stated this multiple times, my contention
is that there is a legal issue preventing
the sale of non region 1 DVD players in
the USA. There may be some off brand units
slipping thru the cracks or loopholes being
sold by some minor retailers, but I dont
think that means that there isnt a legal
issue of some sort, like worldwide DVD liscensing
agreements, preventing the sale of these by
the major retailers/suppliers in the USA. Is that clear
enough for you now?

JCO,

I thought earlier you said you weren't actually contending anything
because
you used the words "from everything I've heard".

Are you contending something or not? I've heard lots of things in life,
but
I usually don't contend and argue my point based on things I've heard. I
try
to do it based on things I know.

My contention is that buying and using both non-region 1 DVD's and
multi-region DVD players in North America in order to view said DVD's in

North America is not illegal or unlawful. I make that contention
because
numerous legitimate licensed business are allowed to sell those
products.

I don't need to go check the laws on this before I go make a purchase,
just
as I don't go check the laws or make inquiries as to whether the food I
purchase at the grocery store was grown and handled according to
government
regulations. In fact I'm sure there's a higher chance the food I ate
last
night at my dinner table was handled by illegal, undocumented aliens,
than
there is that anything illegal has been done with regard to multi-region
DVD
players in North America.

I don't have to prove anything. You are the one that started out
contending
something was illegal, and unless you've provided evidence that it is,
in
subsequent posts I haven't read, the ball is still in your court.

Tom C.
