Nope, they don't. I tutor people in photography around here and most of them won't even think of switching off autofocus (with outo focus-point selection), full program autoexposure (with automatic ISO selection), and auto flash (which pops up and fires whenever the camera thinks you need flash). These are the kind of people for whop the DP Review reviews are written - and the kind of people who'd never, ever read those reviews. In a way, Phil Askey has been very astute: By building a site that offers detailed technical reviews aimed at people who aren't interested and/or couldn't understand them, he's created a mainstream photo web site with and aura of technical expertise.
