No such thing, a direct hit is going to destroy stuff. But... I can now pull two plugs and all my important electronics in the apartment is disconnected from the mains. I now also have a plug at the broadband cable entry, pull it and I am disconnected from the outside cable. If there is a close by T-Storm, or if I am going to be away for awhile, I can pull those three plugs.
Plus Everything is behind two surge protectors in series, and the new laser printer is behind three. Why no UPS? Because I do not trust them; I once had an APC Smart UPS burst into flame. Luckily I was sitting at the computer at the time and was able to unplug it and pull it out from under the computer desk before anything else caught fire. It is a case of once burned, twice shy... I guess this is the best I can do with my limited resources. -- graywolf http://www.graywolfphoto.com http://webpages.charter.net/graywolf "Idiot Proof" <==> "Expert Proof" ----------------------------------- -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
