Steve, The FA20-35/4 is a great lens ... it's almost like having four primes in one lens, and it's barely larger/heavier than one prime lens would be. I've used it a lot over the year and a half I've had it.
For the longer reach, the DA70 is superb: a wonderful lens, very small and light with gorgeous rendering. Don't worry, you can see the quality of it with the DS immediately. And coming up there is the DA*50-135/2.8 which should be a kick-butt lens.
