My K10D can no longer tell up from down, it seems.
Starting this afternoon, images taken while holding
the camera bottom down are now being auto-rotated into
portrait mode, and images taken while holding the
camera with the shutter release on top are coming out
with a landscape orientation.
Oddly - images taken with the shutter button at the
bottom or with the camera held upside down are
rotating correctly...
The camera took what I'd consider a minor bump just
before this happened - I had it on the strap and
flipped it onto my back while I bent down to tie my
shoe. It slipped off my back and hit my leg.
I'm guessing that the minor bump bolloxed up the
switch or sensor inside the camera that tells it the
orientation.
In the forlorn hope dept - is there some hidden menu
item that sets up and down, or do I need to send this
in for repair? I reset everything to the defaults,
changed the battery, and ultimately just disabled
auto-rotate...
