I'm trying to remember on the 280T - My daughter has mine right now. One big issue with Auto flash, is you are limited to the F stops the flash supports. The 280T only has two F stops you can choose from. Sort of a near/far type of setup. The exact f stops are based on the ISO setting.
Some other flashes will have more f stop choices.
