To keep a long story short... I was in a store on Sunday that is an
antique mall. One store front with numerous vendors. A few vendors had
some old cameras. One had a Ricoh with a Pentax-A 50/2 on it.

        This same vendor had a Tele-Takumar 300mm f 6.3 with caps, hood,
case and tripod mount. I returned to inspect it yesterday. I could not
turn it down. It is not mint. Probabloy paid too much. It shows some use
but is clean. I have already put it on the SV to check its operational
feel. I probably will not be able to try it with film until I get down to
Miami.

I also put it on an adapter and tried it on an LX. A totally
different feel than the A* 300/4. I am assuming that the one ring sets the
working aperture and the other sets it once you are done focusing. Is this
correct?

                Just had to tell someone,

                Cesar

P.S. Any thoughts on this lens?
