Hi Cesar,
You are correct. The lens is called a "pre-set" lens.
I suppose it is a step back from "automatic aperture"
lenses, in that it is a manual process, but I kind of
enjoy it. It does require a slower, more deliberate
approach to photography....but then if you have an SV
(as I do)...you already know that!  Enjoy!  Mike
